About DWYCB
DWYCB is a youth Band for any young people that play Wind Band Instruments (That’s Brass or Wind instrument) and that live within striking distance of Worthing.
Membership of the band is open to all so if you would like to come along and give us a try, please come to one of our rehearsals or send us an email to tell us more about yourself. All levels of play are accomodated.
Band objectives
We hope very much to provide enjoyable musical opportunities for members of the Band. The intention is to provide a relaxed and informal environment within which members can further their musical skills, whilst having fun.
In order to achieve this of course, all members must respect the need for good behaviour and the need to follow the instructions from the musical directors.
The Band is supported by Davison High School for Girls as a part of their Music department community outreach project.
Patrons
DWYCB is very fortunate to have two patrons.
Squadron Leader Norman Warnes is a long term supporter of the band, indeed he was one of the original founders some 25 years ago. Norman has had a long and distinguished music career, a great deal of it being with the RAF. Norman now lives away from the area, but still comes into see the Band on his visits back to Worthing.
Major Tom Wye MBE DL became a Patron of the Band in 2009. Tom has been a supporter of the Band since the time that he was Major of Worthing. Tom came to concerts in his capacity as Mayor of Worthing, has supported us on many occasions since then and looks forward to being involved with the Band in the future.
