Paris – what a week
Well we’re back, and what a week it was!!!
The tour was a great success and everyone (including the staff) had an awesome time.
Everything went without a hitch….who could ask for more, and what great weather!
The hotel were wonderful with their hospitality and surroundings, giving the students a warm welcome and plenty of interesting and exciting food (I never knew frogs legs tasted like chicken…yummy).
Two concerts at the hotel, two in Neuilly-sur-marne, and one in Disney, kept the band busy for the week, and I have to say, I thought that they were incredible with their standard, and performance skills! Tres Bien! They were a credit to their parents, themselves, the band and England. Auntie Mary (who organised the Tuesday concerts) was very moved by the band and all of the students….she said “James they are excellent….you and Karen must be very proud!”
FiFi (the restaurant owner and Karen’s new man) was impressed as well, with the behavour, the talent of the band, and with the respect that they gave him in his restaurant. I cant believe how many of the kids had Mussels for dinner……yuk!
Both the Hotel and FiFi laid on extra food and treats for the band with no charge, due to the outstanding way they conducted themselves during their time in France! It has left us both, and the committee speachless! Even out & about in Paris, the students were amazing….so a massive thanks to them!!!
The concert at Disney Fantasy Theatre was truly phenominal, and Disney commented to Karen on how we were the best youth band that they had seen in some years….(what a result).
So I guess what I’m trying to sum up (badly) is that it really was a tour to remember and I’m sure that no one will forget it in a hurry.
Thankyou to the committee for giving their time to help in the organisation and on tour. Without them it would not have happened. What a team!
Also a huge thanks to Davison and to you the parents, for the continued support that you all give the band.
We are planning a social night in the very near future, where you can come and watch the DVD of tour and look at the photo’s…..this is not to be missed! Bring a bottle and some nibbles and enjoy the post-tour social evening. Venue, date & time TBA
